I just read about this place recently and I did a quick search here at Pbase and yours was the only gallery! I just hope it doesn't get ruined by tourists like Machu Picchu. Thank you!

Thank you for the Choquequirao. They are impressive and difficult to pull away from....I will be heading to Peru next week with Choquequirao as my main destination. Saw MP last year. Any insight about getting there more cheaply than one of the Cusco outfitters? Could I just go to Cachora and hire my own provisions, load-bearing animals and guide? Either way I am going to Choquequirao....That one photo that looks like a ditch from up high then showing the many terraces and the excavation in progress says a lot about the massive scope this site could be. Thank you for the beautiful photography.
